Overdrafts
If you need some extra money and you're over 18 with a NatWest Current, Current Plus, Advantage Gold or Advantage Private account, a Credit Zone Overdraft could give you the flexibility you need. Once you've agreed your facility with us, you can use it at any time - without having to contact your branch. There are other overdraft facilities specially designed for students and graduates.
Advantage Private and Advantage Gold customers enjoy a tailored interest rate.
Great flexibility because you can borrow up to your approved limit at any time, plus you:
- can increase or decrease your limit whenever you want
- only pay monthly interest on what you borrow (when within your agreed limit)
- don't have to renew your overdraft
- can protect your repayments against the unexpected with Credit Zone Protector Plus
It's easy to apply
- Online - If you are a NatWest online banking customer, you can apply from within online banking. Simply go to the 'Apply OnLine' section and select the 'Request an overdraft' option. Then, follow the on-screen instructions. We complete many of the fields for you, so all you need to do is specify the amount of overdraft that you wish to apply for. We will then confirm our decision and, if your request has been successful, we will apply the new overdraft limit within 48 hours.
- By Telephone - Call us on 0800 243 406 to speak to an advisor. Call times are Monday to Friday 8am-9pm, Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 10am-4pm (excluding public holidays).
- By Post - Simply complete our application form, print it out and send to us.
- In Person - Visit your nearest branch to speak with an advisor and complete an Overdrafts application form.
What if I'm ill or have an accident?
You can protect yourself against the unexpected with Credit Zone Protector Plus for overdrafts between £200 and £10,000. The Credit Zone Protector Plus option pays your monthly payments if you have an accident, injury or become ill. Protection costs from just £0.76 per £100 insured, plus £0.59 per £100 to insure a second person (joint account customers only). To apply for protection, please call us or visit your local branch.
