Go Green - It's easy to do your bit

You might be surprised at how easy it is to look after the environment, without big changes to the way you live. What's more, you'll save money, protect yourself from fraud and improve your health too.

Opt-out of paper statements

Why bother with paper statements when you can access them online? Switch them off and you'll help the environment. Also, you'll no longer need to worry about lost or stolen statements. It's so easy.
Log in and switch now.

Use your railcard

You've got almost no excuse to use a car with your free 5-Year 16-25 Railcard (formerly Young Persons Railcard). So use it whenever you can. It's cheaper, easier and healthier. If you do need to drive, remember that low-emission vehicles are exempt from road tax.

Offset your emissions

Improve the impact you have on the environment with NatWest. You can offset the amount of carbon dioxide you produce through a range of projects designed specifically to reduce or absorb CO2. You can calculate your own personal carbon footprint online and then reduce it through a financial contribution. Click here to use our carbon offset calculator.

Who needs a cheque-book?

These days it's easier to bank online or use your Maestro/Solo cash card. A cheque-book is just another thing to lose - along with your personal details for all to see. So don't order a cheque-book unless you really need one.

Go green at home

  • Save energy, water and money when you wash on a low temperature - only wash full loads to save even more
  • Unplug your phone when it's charged - switches left on are a waste of energy and money
  • Energy-saving light bulbs reduce your CO2 emissions dramatically and save you £100s over the lifetime of the bulbs
  • Save up to 10% on bills when you turn down the heat by just one degree
